Alessandra is trained as an architect and landscape architect, and joined the Project for Public Spaces team in 2007. Her expertise is in placemaking, and she is passionate about designing inclusive and welcoming spaces with communities. Her knowledge, skills, and design strategies equip people to fuel lasting changes.
Prior to joining Project for Public Spaces she had a sixteen years career in landscape architecture, based in the New York area, with projects in the United States, and abroad. Alessandra's recent projects include low-impact designs for several parks, urban sites, waterfronts, and greenways. Her work often includes landscape and site design; designing and selecting amenities and other public spaces components; establishing a program; identifying opportunities for art; and design interventions with a high impact and a low budget. She is currently a visiting professor at the New York Institute of Technology, teaching site planning and architecture.
