My project idea is...

Use green building techniques to mitigate rainwater on 9th Street near Gowanus

So that people could... 

pass safely during and after severe rain storms. Currently the street floods with contaminated rainwater.

Install speed bumps on 10th st (a no truck zone), as trucks, busses speed dangerously down the street, avoiding 9th st traffic. 2nd ave between 12-9th sts have no traffic lights, crosswalks, stop sign

Improve stretch of sidewalk that runs along 10th st(sidewalk beautification and removal of garbage and debris, dog waste). It's a health hazard for residents on this block.

Beautify and landscape the strip of "grass" that runs along 10th st b/w 2nd and 3rd ave. Remove garbage and debris that is currently being dumped here, possibly install garbage bins
