2022: A Year in Review

In 2022, Project for Public Spaces had a jam-packed year of helping people create a world of community-powered public spaces.

Here are a few highlights of what you will find inside. This past year, Project for Public Spaces...

Partnered with like-minded foundations and corporations to provide grants, technical assistance, and capacity building to transform 11 public spaces around North America, from a pop-up mobile library environment to a playground at a shelter for women and their families to a communal "front yard" at a historic train station
Offered technical assistance services to plan and design 9 public spaces across North America, including an innovative model for social inclusion in New York's Times Square
Facilitated two online placemaking and public markets trainings for 432 participants from 31 countries and 42 U.S. States, including 55 scholarship recipients, increasing our reach by over 550%
Published 52 newsletters and 15 articles on placemaking and public markets, including a deep-dive into the seven principles of successful Market Cities
