Emily works with communities across the United States on projects of all shapes and sizes, from district vision plans to CSR-funded year-long programs that begin with community engagement and last until implementation.
Having spent her college years in New York and Copenhagen, Emily was able to study the successes and failures of various cities and neighborhoods up close as she earned her degree in Urban Studies, Environmental Studies, and Communications. Watching Holly Whyte's “The Social Life of Small Urban Spaces” documentary in a class inspired her to join the Project for Public Spaces team in 2018.
Whether Emily is in Brooklyn, or traveling somewhere new, she enjoys exploring cities and is always on the hunt for great new restaurants or places to hang out with friends.
"Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn is one of my favorite places! I try to bring anyone visiting me to this gorgeous historical site founded in 1838 as part of the rural cemetery movement, predating widespread public parks. From quiet walks to a fantastic view of the city and a wide array of events, there’s something for everyone."
