Each "room" of the garden features a different microclimate, with appropriate plantings - including a pond garden, high desert garden, perennial gardens, a meditation garden, etc.
It is one of the main attractions in Vail. It is accessible by foot from town, and there is a free bus stop nearby. Most visitors park in the free public garage in Vail Village.
It is convenient, located in a natural setting away from buildings. It is very safe - Vail is a mountain ski resort town, and no private vehicles are allowed to drive there. There is free bus service.
Good for people of all ages, genders, etc. Weddings are often held there.
It is a quiet, natural place to enjoy the mountain flowers in their own settings.
It was started by President Ford's wife, Betty.
