At 287 acres, Riverview Park is a jewel of PittsburghÍs North Side. Created in 1894, the park predates the City of AlleghenyÍs annexation to the City of Pittsburgh in 1907. Formed largely from farmland, todayÍs Riverview Park is known for its dense woodlands and steep topography.
Riverview Park is accessed by Perrysville, Woods Run and Marshall Avenue and is actively used people from eleven different neighborhoods, including Brighton Heights, Fineview, Perry Hilltop, and Observatory Hill. The park has an extensive network of trails invites hikers, joggers, and the occasional horseback rider into the woods.
Riverview park is regularly maintained by the city of Pittsburgh with ecological help from the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy. The park's steep topography and features make a striking impression.

The park is also home to the landmark Allegheny Observatory, a space-themed playground, a visitorÍs center, a swimming pool and activities building, the natural beauty of the Mairdale watershed, and the popular two-mile Riverview Loop. Residents enjoy the park's pool, playground, ball field, shelters and summertime concerts and movies.
Regular Riverview park users are often seen walking on trails, using the community center, and playing on the playground. It is embraced by the surrounding community.
